| Membership Organizations
|
| Membership organizations
have different needs than other types
of nonprofits. They may still have
volunteers that are usually recruited
from the membership and most of their
income usually comes from membership
dues rather than large donors so the
website needs to heavily focus on
attracting potential members and offering
member benefits and other incentives
to get them to sign up. Membership
organizations need websites that look
professional and usually business-like
with lots of news updates and industry
information. |

| Seed Business
Network / Disabilitybiz.org |
Seed
Business Network is a membership
organization that needed a
website just for it's members.
They also needed to increase
website traffic and increase
and retain membership. To
do this, designed a website
that provided original content,
interactivity, and conducted
search engine optimization
to attract more visitors.
We also helped them restructure
their membership levels and
benefits and added special
features on the website just
for members. We have worked
with Seed Business Network
since 2004 and continue to
work with them as their primary
marketing / IT staffing provider.
Highlights of our services
include:
|
 |
Created
an Online membership application
and database with secure
log-in areas for 3 different
membership levels. |
 |
Designed
an online survey to generate
feedback on the new site
and other consumer needs. |
 |
Created
a community bulletin board
and interactive poll |
 |
Designed
an online interactive
business workbook for
members; we wrote the
content, designed the
online workbook and programmed
the interactivity. |
|
| In 2006, disabilitybiz.org's
website traffic has increased
from 1,000 unique visitors per
month to over 3,000 and their
membership has doubled. |

| "Thanks
to Julie Damon and E-nomad Consulting
our website Disabilitybiz.org
has gone from a “horse
and buggy” version straight
into the 21st Century! She has
made Disabilitybiz.org a better
organized, better presented
and much more interactive medium.
She has incorporated items that
we had thought would take a
long time and lots of money
to bring to our clients. She
has added over 100 pages of
text, graphics and interactive
forms. She has done all of our
web site layout, search engine
placement as well as coordinating
with our IT staff. We are thrilled
to be able to offer our clients
a professional and effective
medium for developing their
businesses.
We
have also appreciated the
range and depth of Julie’s
knowledge of the non-profit
process. She has helped us
navigate issues with the incorporation
process and board development
as well as accounting issues
and fundraising. She brings
years of experience building
successful non-profits, for
herself and others. Thank
you, Julie. " Catherine
Freeman, Program Director
Seed Business Network. |
